Start with net price

Net price is the cost of attendance after grants and scholarships. Loans do not reduce the price; they change how you pay it. Compare the total attendance budget, including housing, supplies, transport, and required fees.

Read each aid offer on the same terms

Separate grants, scholarships, work-study, and loans. Check whether awards renew each year and what academic conditions apply. A lower first-year bill can conceal a higher cost later.

Use an average as a starting point

The catalog’s average net price is not a personal quote. Replace it with your actual aid offer and expected living costs before deciding. Ask each school for a complete, written cost breakdown.
